| (Insert inane beginning and psuedo-excuse here): So I am a slacker. Or maybe I forgot my password. Or maybe I was kidnapped by the little green men and held hostage while my family tried to meet the ransom demand of ten pumpkins, 4 cucumbers, and a bale of hay. Whichever. I will let you decide based on your knowledge of who I am and how my mental processes work.
(Insert life update here): Actually, I have now been married for 2 months, 1 week, and 6 days and all of that time has been wonderful. I thank all of you for your prayers and support. But many of you who advised us that the first year was the hardest were wrong. We have not had a single major argument since our wedding! God is good and we are learning to live together not only as man and wife, but also as brother and sister in Christ.
(Insert self-revelation here): I have also realized, on account of my relationship with Meaghan, how deeply sinful and selfish I am. It is amazing how God has opened my eyes recently!
(Insert random, yet important, thought here): I wonder how many of us think that we have it all together? We have tied our worldview into a tight, orderly, ribbon-tied, wrapping paper-covered package. We planted our flag in the soil of Truth and claimed it for our own. Yet, how many of our packages are empty? Have we simply gathered a bucket of earth and claimed it for the whole? One critical question: what difference does our Truth make in our lives. Orthodoxy without Orthopraxy is Heresy.
| So hello again. I sure am glad that I finally decided to update this thing because now I can say with great pride and anticipation: 10 days!!! | | |
| So it has been a long time, no? But here I am and I am going to be a married man in 16 days!!! God is good and time has flown. Meaghan and I are excited and cannot wait for the big day and our life together. Prayers would be greatly appreciated as we embark on this new journey. God's peace. | | |
| Hebrew is a great language! You can study and study and study and still forget the most pitiful little details! It is my favorite class right now, but it really is getting hard. Oh well!
Quote: "He who laughs last, thinks slowest."
Verse: Hebrews 6:9-12 "Even though we speak like this, dear friends, we are confident of better things in your case - things that accompany salvation. God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised."
Praise God for the hope that we have! Pray for me and for each other and for yourself that this hope would be the driving force in living the Christian life. Peace out.
